Derailment formed on January 22nd, 2021. Originating from Metuchen, NJ, it all started as a group of friends having a fun jam session who ended up forming a band out of it. After quickly writing songs from that session, as well as further jams and rehearsals, the band played their first show on April 2nd later that year.

Derailment’s style of hardcore punk has been influenced by bands such as Ramones, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Descendents, Adolescents, Bad Religion, T.S.O.L., The Offspring, and many more.

The current lineup consists of guitarist/vocalist Roman Stefaniw, guitarist Jon Vartanian, bassist/vocalist Ernie Pulchny, and drummer/vocalist Andrew Illuzzi. Roman and Ernie are founding members, with Andrew joining in January 2023, replacing the band’s original drummer, and Jon joining to expand the band into a four piece in June 2023.

Derailment continues to play shows and write music for future releases.
